Packing for a villa is easier than packing for a hotel: you have a washing machine, a
full kitchen and space. So this list is shorter than you'd expect — but don't skip what's on it.
Documents & money
Passports / ID cards for everyone (check the kids' too — the most common thing people forget!)
Health cards or European Health Insurance Card
Driving licence, vehicle registration, green card for the car
Booking confirmation and our phone number (save it offline)
A little cash in euros — konobas and market stalls don't always take cards
For the pool & the sea
Swimsuits (two per child — one is always wet)
SPF 30–50 sunscreen and after-sun
Hats / caps and sunglasses for everyone
Arm bands / swim vests for non-swimmers
Water shoes (for Kamenjak and pebble beaches)
Beach towels (don't bring towels for the villa — they're already there)
For the kids
A favourite toy / dummy / blanket for sleeping — peace of mind for the whole household
Board games and cards for evenings at the villa
A ball (volleyball and five-a-side in the courtyard — the pitch is right there)
Snacks for the road and water bottles
Check the car seat before you leave
Health & safety
Any regular medication + a copy of prescriptions
A small travel kit: probiotic, antihistamine, plasters, thermometer
Insect repellent and after-bite
Numbers: 112 (EU emergency services) · 194 (ambulance in Croatia)
Handy for the villa
Chargers, adapters, an extension lead (there's always one missing)
A speaker for music by the pool
Spices "from home" if you can't do without them — the basics are already in the kitchen
A laundry bag and a couple of clothes pegs
What you don't need to bring
Towels, bed linen, a hairdryer, a washing machine, a full kitchen, a grill, sunbeds and umbrellas,
a sauna and a jacuzzi — it's all already at the villa. Half your suitcase just freed up.
The evening before you leave
Check the car's tyres, oil and water; fill up the tank
Download offline maps of Istria (signal can drop in the hills)
Let us know your rough arrival time — we'll be waiting for you
Water the plants, take out the rubbish, switch off the boiler — and relax
